I jokingly refer to myself as a tech therapist.
Do you have frustrations with your technology? Is your laptop possessed by the ghosts of Christmas past? Does your printer spit out pages during all hours of the night? I can help you with that!
I help folks work through the trauma of everyday tech.
Of course, this is all in good fun. In reality, I work with various levels of technical support, IT administration, systems integration, and a little dabble in software development. I am very much a jack of all trades and a master of none in the tech field.
Is that a crux? No. Stretching my arms into various areas of expertise has enabled me to think critically about new situations, learn to translate the technical to the non-technical and vice-versa, learn new skills on the fly, and be confident in doing so. The unknown is my playground, and I happily jump into it every day.
